While working on a book about the turbulent early years of culinary memoirist IFC Fisher, Mary, a biographer of mixed race, interviews an elderly actress Gloria Stewart (with titanic fame). Both the interviewer and the interviewee reflect on how the truth about past love is formed under the influence of personal interests. Eventually, the two women find common ground to talk about racial differences and develop an unlikely friendship.
